The body of Declan Whyte has been found in County Leitrim

The body of Declan Whyte has been found in County Leitrim after he went missing last month.

Garda officials confirmed that the discovery was made on Wednesday (March, 15).

The remains of the man, who had been missing for over month, were recovered in the Carrick-on-Shannon area earlier this week.

The 30 year old was last seen in the same area of the county back on February, 11.

Thanking the public for their help, an official statement said: “An Garda Síochána would like to acknowledge the assistance and support of the Defence Forces, Civil Defence and the public for their assistance in this matter.”
