Chantelle Houghton showed the true strain of the last few weeks as she broke down on live television. The usually bubbly blonde made an appearance on This Morning to talk about life after Alex Reid, her former fiancé and father to her new baby daughter Dolly, but she quickly became emotional as she told her story to presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
Alex proposed to Chantelle live on Irish television in October 2011, before the couple announced they were expecting their first child the following month. But sadly the relationship hasn’t lasted with Chantelle saying “There’s things about Alex that I didn’t know when I first met him, and he wasn’t the person I met. He didn’t turn into the person that I met in the beginning. He was a different person. I was really happy and it was everything I wanted, especially when I found out that I was pregnant. We were over the moon and we were so happy and then stuff happened and it just went from bad to worse. I tried to stick at it because I always wanted a mum and dad and a family. But there came a point where it had to end.’
But bringing up baby Dolly alone hasn’t been easy for Chantelle and she seemed stressed and worried about the future. Sobbing into a tissue, she said: ‘It’s like the saying, I’ve been to hell and back and I feel like I’m in that hell now… I know I can see the future and I will be happy again, but right now, things are really tough. RSVP feels it may have been too soon for Chantelle to speak publically about her break up as she was visibly shaken.
Chantelle vowed there is no going back to Alex, the relationship ended in September as they had no future together.

Why do television presenters interview people when they know they will get upset. Is a story really worth upsetting people
