Here’s some tips to make sure your dog ages gracefully by staying healthy

Dog is mans best friend, so there’s a good chance that you want your beloved pooch to live the longest, happiest, and healthiest love it possibly can.

We have a few tips that will help you to look after your dog, and ensure it remains healthy and happy.

  • Take your dog for regular weigh in at the vet. This means that your dog will maintain a healthy weight, and therefore will not struggle with weight related health issue. This means staying active won’t be a struggle for your dog. Overweight dogs are particularly susceptible to conditions such as hip dysplasia, diabetes and cancer, which may cause them to die up to two years earlier than lean dogs.
  • Brush your dogs teeth. It may sound strange but  plaque can cause gingivitis and lead to tooth loss. If bacteria from the dog’s mouth spreads to the bloodstream, it can affect a dog’s kidney, liver and heart. Brushing your dogs teeth twice a week can really help to prevent these side effects.
  • Show your dog lots of love. Just like humans dogs need to feel loved. A loved dog is a happy dog, and so if you want your dog to live a long happy life, making sure you show them love, and spend time playing with them is essential.

And obviously, just enjoy every moment with your dog. Just like people healthy diet and exercise is essential. If in doubt always ask your vet. They will be able to advise you on what is best for your dog.
