Former Irish League footballer Tony Scappaticci has been found dead this morning.

The former Glenavon defender, 48, had been living in a flat in Banbridge, Co Down, reports Belfast Live.

He retired from football in 2000 after spells with Bangor FC and Newry City.

The father-of-three was part of Glenavon’s team which won the Irish Cup in 1992.
