Keith Duffy has hit back at Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan’s criticism of Boyzlife.

The Boyzlife member has claimed that former Westlife members Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan ‘take themselves too seriously’.

Speaking to The Irish Sun he said:

“I don’t care what Kian and Nicky think about Boyzlife. Both of them take themselves way too seriously and have big egos.”

“Shane Filan and Mark Feehily were the great singers in Westlife and Kian and Nick weren’t, but they go on as though they were brilliant. Westlife take themselves way too seriously.”

He then went on to say that both bands were very similar, both playing to screaming girls, and both being pop bands.

He added, “Kian and Nicky think they are Bob Dylan and U2, singing songs about humanity and saving the world. They need to chill out and start enjoying themselves.”

Keith also went on the say that with Boyzone signing a new deal, and Westlife being together 20 years next year, there’s a possibility that both bands will be tour rivals.

“Westlife are 20 years together next year so I’m sure there’s talk of them getting back together for that anniversary.

“It’s the same for Boyzone, we’ve just signed a brand new deal with Warner Music for a new album and an arena tour,” said Keith Duffy.

The Boyzlife member was hitting back at remarks made by Kian, over Brian using part of Westlife’s name for the new duo.

“It’s a bit of an odd one – a member of Westlife who left the band after four years decides to use half the name for whatever it is that they’re doing,” said Kian.
