Craig Charles Eyeing Up Doctor Who Role? Coronation Street star Craig Charles is eyeing up a new role. The actor has revealed that he would love to sink his teeth into the lead role of Doctor Who and be the first black actor to play the Time Lord, following Matt Smith’s decision to leave the role. Charles admitted that the chances weren’t great for him to get the coveted role but would consider it an honour to take residence in the TARDIS. This would not be his first time in a sci-fi role as he previously played Dave Lister in the intergalactic sitcom Red Dwarf. He told Purple Revolver “Yeah, having a black Doctor Who would be double cool. To be asked by the Beeb would be great, it’s such a classic show. But I think there would probably be too much cross-over with Red Dwarf, as we’ve got a new series lined up next year.” Though he loves the show, Craig did admit that one aspect of it annoys him, it’s special effects. He said “Also, I would have to grit my teeth a bit, because the thing about Doctor Who that always annoyed me was the graphics are crap.” Craig may be quite certain that he will not be the first black Doctor but he did joke that he had one achievement in his career that he is proud of. He said jokingly “But, even if I can’t be the first black Doctor, I am the first black man to own a house on Corrie, which is as good a claim to fame.”
Katie Price Admits She Cannot Be Single Katie Price has admitted that she cannot stay single. RSVP wasn’t exactly shocked by the model’s revelation! According to Katie, who married third husband Kieran Hayler earlier this year, she is better suited to being part of a couple due to her party animal ways. She insisted that when she is single she tends to party and drink too much. She said “Being single doesn’t suit me. I try but it doesn’t work. I’m not a big drinker, but when I’m single I end up going out to clubs and getting drunk, when really I just like being with someone – having that soul mate. Most of my friends are in relationships or have kids, and I like to have someone with me.” Katie, who has been locked in a bitter war of words with Kelly Brook for the past few months, then went on to talk about how people often take offence to her outspoken nature which she puts down to always speaking her mind even if it isn’t what people want to hear. She claimed “There’s nothing wrong with being outspoken. If someone looks s**t in a dress and they ask my opinion, I’ll say, ‘It’s all right. It’s not that great,’ instead of lying and saying, ‘You look really good.’ It’s not because I’m horrible or cruel. I just say it as it is. If you’re going to ask me a question, expect me to give you an honest answer.” Price is currently expecting her first child with Hayler. She also has three other children, Harvey (11), Junior (7) and five-year-old daughter Princess Tiaamii.
Psy To Collaborate with Brian May on New Track ‘Gangnam Style’ singer Psy is said to have gotten into the music business after becoming enamoured with the music of Queen. Now the Korean star is set to live a personal dream as he begins to work on a new track with Queen guitarist Brian May. According to The Sun Psy regards Queen as inspiring him to get into the music industry and used to play their old performances on a loop as a teenager. May decided to work with the K-Pop star as he was touched that his band were his reason for pursuing a music career. The unlikely duo made the decision to collaborate on the new track together, which will be a remix of a song Brian penned for former The Voice contestant Kerry Ellis, after meeting for lunch. Brian spoke about their meeting at the Relentless Kerrang! Awards last week, saying “It turns out he’s a massive Queen fan and he says he’s in the business because of us, which is always nice to hear. I was quite nervous to meet him. The guy’s had 1.6billion views on YouTube. It turns out that he was pretty nervous too. So we just sat there and looked at each other for a while. Then we had a good conversation and it was nice. It was a friendly lunch.” As a teenager Psy was in awe of Freddie Mercury and his electrifying stage presence. It is this that he credits for turning him into the pop star he is today. He said “If it wasn’t for Queen at Wembley, I wouldn’t be a pop star. When I was growing up I would watch Freddie Mercury with all those fans in the palm of his hand. He is the best.”
Nigella Lawson’s Husband Defends Choking as ‘A Playful Tiff’ Yesterdays photos of Nigella Lawson’s husband choking her in the middle of a restaurant while having an argument caused uproar throughout the public. But since the photos have been released Charles Staatchi has released a statement, telling the Evening Standard; “About a week ago, we were sitting outside a restaurant having an intense debate about the children, and I held Nigella’s neck repeatedly while attempting to emphasise my point. There was no grip, it was a playful tiff. The pictures are horrific but give a far more drastic and violent impression of what took place. Nigella’s tears were because we both hate arguing, not because she had been hurt. We had made up by the time we were home.” Explaining why Nigella was then pictured leaving their family home with a suitcase and her 17-year-old son, Charles claims it was merely to avoid attention from the paparazzi. He added; “The paparazzi were congregated outside our house after the story broke yesterday morning, so I told Nigella to take the kids off till the dust settled.” Meanwhile, Scotland Yard’s Community Safety Unit are currently “carrying out preliminary inquiries” into the photographs, but that they have not received a complaint from Nigella or anyone else. Nigella and Charles married in 2003, she has two children – Cosima, 19, and Bruno, 17 – from her previous marriage to John Diamond, who died in 2001. Kelly revealed her diet secrets in a recent interview saying; “If you’re doing a diet for six weeks, there’s no point — you’ll be back where you started soon after you stop. I could never cut out a food group like dairy, it’s not sustainable. And I don’t calorie count. You need a healthy relationship with your whole lifestyle. That means working out how much exercise is realistic for you, cooking healthy meals and being sensible.” “I have porridge or boiled eggs for breakfast. I love tea and coffee and could drink them all day and snack on biscuits, but I eat fruit if I’m trying to be healthy. I also eat a lot of fish, for lunch and dinner. I love sushi or I’ll have a tuna Niçoise salad or salmon steak. I like to make lots of healthy soups in winter, too.”

Mommy/baby are healthy & resting. We appreciate all of the love. More info will come when the time is right! Thank you all for understanding! We love you all dearly! Overwhelmed with love right now.” Fans were also reassured that the baby girl’s name, which is rumoured to begin with a K, will be revealed soon. Khloe’s message was re-tweeted by Kim’s mother Kris Jenner, who also tweeted Kanye West saying; “HAPPY FATHERS DAY @kanyewest!!!!!!!” Kanye previously vowed to protect the privacy of his baby girl and is said to have urged Kim, 32, to take a step back from the limelight for the sake of their daughter. Kim and Kanye’s baby, who was born at around 1:30a.m. Saturday, weighed in at just ‘under five pounds’ at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles and was almost one month premature.
Moderate Drinking Not Harmful To Pregnant Women According to British research carried out on 7,000 children up to the age of ten, moderate drinking by pregnant women does not harm the development of their unborn babies. Moderate drinking is defined as three to seven glasses of alcohol a week. A glass is defined as a British pub measure of spirits, half a pint of lager or cider, or a standard wine glass of wine. The children were chosen from a 14,000-strong group born in or around Bristol between 1992 and 1993, who have been examined frequently since birth as part of the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children. 70 percent of mothers followed regular medical advice and drank no alcohol during pregnancy while some women drank between one and two glasses and for others between three to seven. The test saw the children having to walk on a beam and stand on one leg, with eyes open and closed. Oddly, the women who had drunk during and after their pregnancies had the best performing children. However, not surprisingly in these researches, income plays a role: better static balance is linked to wealth and education. The research is published today in the British Medical Journal’s BMJ Open online publication.

Michelle, Malia And Sasha Obama To Arrive In Dublin Today. Michelle Obama and her two daughters, Malia, 14 and Sasha, 12 are due to arrive in our capital city today, as part of a two day break which coincides with President Barack Obama’s attendance at the G8 summit in Co Fermanagh. The Obama’s will be staying in the Shelbourne Hotel, with area’s surrounding the hotel currently on lock down, Kildare street has been blocked off until they leave on Tuesday. According to the Irish Examiner, Michelle and the girls will first stop off in Trinity college to view the Book of Kells before heading to a private viewing of Riverdance in the Gaiety Theatre, where they will be hosted by the Taoiseach’s wife, Fionnuala Kenny, and Irish First Lady, Sabina Higgins. As the girls love the outdoors it is believed they will walk in the Wicklow hills and visit Glendalough on Tuesday before flying back to Belfast to join Mr Obama for his onward visit to Germany. The Twilight Saga actor, who is recently single following his split from on/off girlfriend Kristen Stewart, will feature in a TV and print ad campaign called ’1000 Lives’ which will be unveiled in September. Speaking to E! News, a source revealed a taster of the ad, part of which was filmed in the ballroom of the glamorous and luxurious Waldorf Astoria in New York. We would expect nothing less from Dior! Describing the ad, which features Rob and his model love interest, the source said: “During the scene, they were holding hands and danced a little before splitting up so Rob could dance with the older lady. The scene was that others were not amused by this—like those two were crashing a ceremony.” The lavish ad also reportedly features “a lot of guests dressed very fancy” as well as “a 6-piece formal band with violins”. Ben Affleck Opens Up About The Joys Of Fatherhood Today was a day for appreciating all the great and important dads in our life, and we bet celebrity dad Ben Affleck was basking in the attention from his three children, if his recent interview with US Weekly is anything to go by. Speaking to the magazine recently about the subject of family life, Ben admitted that despite his busy working life, making time for his children is his main priority. “If you’re not working on spending time with your kids, then why’d you have a family to begin with?” he said. “At least, if you’re able to. Some folks can’t even, don’t have that time. So I’m trying to do both and you know, just figuring it out as it comes.” The Hollywood superstar, who has three children with his actress wife Jennifer Garner will be spending the summer looking after Violet, 7, Seraphina, 4 and Samuel, 15 months, while Jennifer works on a number of new movie projects. Ben spoke proudly and lovingly about his children, saying: ”They’re sweet. It’s great. Raising kids is the greatest thing I think a person, or at least I, could ever do in my life. I know what the best part of my life is and it’s my kids and it doesn’t mean there aren’t other things that aren’t great, but I know sort of what the centre is.” Although both Ben and Jen have high profile careers, their relationship is always kept under wraps and the pair are known for being incredibly united and devoted, which is obvious to see at any red carpet event they attend together. Pregnant Katie Price Refused Access To Sunbed In UK Salon It’s a brave woman who comes between Katie Price and her tanning regime! But this is exactly what happened when Katie, who is expecting her fourth child – her first with new husband Kieran Hayler – visited a salon to avail of their sunbed services, only to be turned away due to baby being on board. According to The Mirror, Pricey was turned away from Tan Fx in Surrey when she popped in to use their sunbeds, because the salon’s insurance does not cover the use of sunbeds during pregnancy. Owner of Tan Fx Abi Williams took to Facebook to highlight the incident, saying: “It’s not against the law but I run a tight ship and she wouldn’t be insured”. Although the post was later removed, Katie’s people were quick to add their two cents. “Katie went to another salon where she was not treated as though she were abnormal simply because she is pregnant,” said a spokesperson for the celebrity mum. “Katie has taken medical advice on this issue and is happy that occasional short use of sunbeds is not an issue during pregnancy.” Although the proprietor of Tan Fx extended the olive branch via Facebook, saying that she hoped she would “see her again once she has had her baby”, we’ve got a feeling that this is one salon Katie will be scratching off the list!

Pumped-up Bon Jovi wowed the mammoth crowds at Slane last night and showed why they’re still rock royalty. The American band entertained more than 60,000 Irish fans as they played a thrilling set picked specially for the hugely anticipated gig. The historic Co Meath venue went wild for Livin’ On A Prayer – as charismatic front man Jon Bon Jovi heard the crowd sing along to the hit. The singer revealed: “This is the show I’ve been waiting for all year. I like what I see! I’m gonna take in all I see!” Lucky punters who attended the concert were also treated to a spectacular fireworks display over the banks of the River Boyne. Even the heavy showers were not enough to dampen spirits as fans kept dancing through the rain. Bon Jovi’s gig followed the hotly anticipated return of Robbie Williams, who rocked the Aviva on Friday night. Shocking Pictures of Nigella Lawson Being Choked by Husband Released Shocking pictures have emerged of Nigella Lawson apparently being choked by her husband billionaire Charles Saatchi during a row in a restaurant. The pictures, printed on the front page of the Sunday People, appear to show the couple embroiled in a major dispute as they sit outside Scott’s in Mayfair. On four occasions, Mr Saatchi, 70, appears to reach over and grab TV chef Nigella around the throat. The 53-year-old looks terrified throughout the ordeal which has sparked outrage on the internet and left the restaurant in floods of tears. Although other diners were present during the incident, none intervened. ‘It was utterly shocking to watch,’ one onlooker told the Sunday People. ‘I have no doubt she was scared. It was horrific, really.’ It is understood to have occurred towards the end of their meal at the seafood restaurant, a favourite haunt of celebrities including Pippa Middleton, Jeremy Clarkson and Simon Cowell. Art collector Charles Saatchi is pictured using first his left hand, then both, to grab his wife around the neck as she looks extremely upset. Twice she tried to move back in apparent fear from her husband. The incident could clearly be seen by other customers and passers-by in the busy street. But although some looked shocked, no one made moves to intervene. Miss Lawson later kisses him on the cheek, despite a photo showing him pulling her nose. A final shot shows her sobbing as she bites her lip and walks towards the awaiting car after her husband leaves her at the table. In the past Miss Lawson has admitted she and Saatchi have their fiery moments. ‘I’ll go quiet when he explodes, and then I am a nest of horrible festeringness.’ The couple are due to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary in September.

The newborn is said to pay a strong resemblance to the striking brunette and looks less like her rapper father. A source close to the couple has revealed that the little girl is truly a Kardashian Mini-Me. ‘She has dark hair,’ the source revealed to E! News. ‘She looks just like Kim.’ The news of the baby bearing a striking resemblance to Kim will no doubt delight the Kardashian clan and their army of fans around the world. Kim Kardashian in Labour Kim Kardashian has reportedly gone into labour with her first child, a few weeks before her July due date. Kim and Kanye revealed they are expecting a baby girl. According to the Mail Online, the 32-year-old who is in the last stages of her pregnancy has been admitted to a hospital in Beverly Hills on Saturday morning. The reality star has reportedly taken out a birthing suite at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center — a hospital of choice among many celebrities including Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson. No further details have been released, though her family members are surely in a state of joy. This is the first child for Kim, who alongside boyfriend Kanye West, announced her pregnancy around the New Year.
