Rebecca Ferguson reveals she was sexually abused in a children’s home
Rebecca Ferguson has opened up for the first time about her horrific childhood abuse.
The former X Factor star broke down as she revealed she was just eight years old when she was assaulted in a children’s home.
Prior to her appearance, panellists Ruth Langsford, Linda Robson, Saira Khan and Penny Lancaster had been speaking about sexual abuse.
When Rebecca was asked for her thoughts, she made the heartbreaking admission, saying:
“I’ve never spoken about it.
“You feel dirty like you’ve done something wrong.”
Saira later reached out to Rebecca and invited her to go into therapy with her.
She said: “I’m going for counselling and I’d love you to come with me.
“I’d love you to come with me. It helps me and I think we could do it together.”
Rebecca agreed to go and seek help with Saira but tearfully admitted: “I’ve never done it before.”
Loose Women viewers praised Rebecca for her bravery and for opening up about the abuse in such a public forum.
