RSVP Bride of the Week: Sarah Egan

Winners of RSVP’s Dream Wedding Giveaway Sarah Egan and David Gerrity recall special highlights from their beautiful Moyvalley wedding……

HOW DID YOU MEET?

On January 23rd, 2010, we shared our first kiss. On January 14th, 2011, we welcomed our first son. On March 21st, 2015, we welcomed our first daughter and on July 29th, 2015, he ‘put a ring on it’.

We first met as teenagers, he was a brother of a friend. Actually, he was always my friends ‘hot’ brother. After being in other relationships we were now both single pringles…it finally came to the moment that would change our lives forever. We were at his sisters 21st party, where all my friends and his family were celebrating. I was dancing the night away when I got a tap on the shoulder, turned around and there he was leaning in for our first kiss….out of nowhere!! I didn’t even have time to think, we locked lips and the rest is history.

THE DATE

Thursday November 3rd 2016

THE LOCATION

We got married in Moyvalley Hotel, Co. Kildare in the beautiful Balyna House. Balyna House is a 19th Century Mansion set in the Kildare countryside, surrounded by magnificent lawns. It was the most perfect backdrop for the most perfect day.

THE DRESS

My dress was custom made by Designer Synan O’Mahony.  I really loved my dress! It was a full lace, fit and flare, off the shoulder style.

After having my second baby a year before our wedding and losing my baby weight I wanted to show off my figure, a fitted dress was always going to be a must!

HAIR & MAKE UP

Makeup & Hair: My hair and make up was beautifully put together by The Powder Room Girls, Susan Peggs, the Director of The Powder Room Girls did my hair. It was neatly pinned back in a full low set bun, and Dolly did my make up. I was so pleased with how they both turned out.

THE VENUE

Our drinks reception, meal, dancing (the whole lot!) all took place in Balyna House. We could not fault one part of our day. The level of service and attention to detail from the staff at Moyvalley was absolutely superb.

SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS

The highlight of our day was being able to share it with both our children. After being away for two and a half years on our own with our kids it was lovely for us to see them surrounded by so many people who love and cherish them. Ryan, our son, also wrote a little speech for us with his Granddad which was very special.

THE HONEYMOON

We went surfing in the South of Portugal for a week after our wedding. It was beautiful and really nice to get some time alone, although we were dying to get back to our kids by the end of the week. We also hope to go on a nice family holiday during the Summer……
