Charles And Camilla’s Emergency Chopper Landing Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall got a big fright yesterday when their helicopter developed a technical fault and they had to make an emergency landing. 15 minutes into their journey the pilot was forced to divert to a nearby aerodrome when he noticed the helicopter was in difficulty. They are currently investigating what caused the glitch. According to The Sun, Charles and Camilla were on their way to Hay-on-Wye in Wales for the literature festival and still made the event as they continued their journey after transferring to cars. A spokesman for the royal couple said: “The pilot carried out a controlled emergency landing after diverting to the airport. It was quite a hairy experience. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were very determined to get to Hay and carry out their engagements as planned.” The couple attended their duties and seemed relaxed after the hairy experience!

You wonder is it you, drawing the universes positive energy and that by thinking of that said word it starts appearing in everything you read. Or I’ve had friends who thought they might be expecting and started seeing babies and baby related things every where. Universe? Coincidence? Last week I got a message from my cousin, holidaying in Spain, asking me if I’d heard of a brand of cosmetics named Kiko. Having briefly heard of them but knowing nothing about them I did a quick bit of research (so as to reply with confidence… my family turn to me for everything beauty related whether I know what I’m talking about or not!) My cousin is a generous, kind, trusting spirit who just like me could be sucked in by a glamorous sales assistant and pitch. So I wanted to make sure I had the right info for her before turning her loose! Online, I could find no bad reports, in fact, only glowing references and in depth distributions of the products. This set off wallet alarm bells, expecting the price range to be extortionate, but no, quite the opposite in fact. I gave her my blessing and sent her off on her merry (quite possibly being on holidays and all, nothing wrong with a glass or two of wine with your lunch when your on another continent) way. Good natured and all as she is, of course her next message was asking did I want anything from there? I tend to have to play with make-up and see it for myself before purchasing so I politely declined. Two days later, while checking my news feed on Facebook, my make-up artist friend Katherine (one of my favourite Irish artists) posted a pick of a bed full of make up after a shopping trip in Italy. Adele Chooses Alan Carr as Godfather to Son Adele has reportedly chosen TV funnyman Alan Carr as godfather to her son Angelo. The singer was said to have been torn between the comedian and former EastEnders star Sid Owen, both of whom she is close friends with. According to The Sun Adele has picked Carr to be the godfather but it wasn’t an easy choice. A source said “It was a toss-up between Sid and Alan for the godfather role and technically kids can have more than one godfather if the parents want. But even though the talk was that Sid was frontrunner, Alan’s been told by Adele he’s the godfather because he does so much with her and her new family. He’s stayed over at her house in London and gone to gigs with her as well as on long walks.” Alan and Adele are close friends, so much so that in March he revealed that she told him about her pregnancy before it became public knowledge last year. He also supported her decision to try to keep her son’s name a secret from the press. He said “Don’t you just love the fact she doesn’t do many interviews and never talks about her personal life?” The source then went on to claim that should something happen to Adele or her partner Simon Konecki, then Alan could be made Angelo’s guardian. The insider told The Sun “It means if anything happens to Adele and her partner Simon Konecki, he’ll have a big part to play in Angelo’s life. And if Adele’s thought far ahead, Alan’s likely to be named in her will as a potential guardian along with her mum Penny.”
Amanda Byram to Present ‘This Morning’ Amanda Byram has landed one of the highest profile presenting jobs on British TV. The Castleknock beauty has been chosen to present ITV’s This Morning next week. Amanda will share the This Morning couch with BBC sports presenter Jake Humphrey as they stand in for husband and wife duo Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford for the mid-morning show. The new role should be a walk in the park for Amanda who is no stranger to presenting morning television as she started her presenting career on TV3’s Ireland AM. Amanda is certainly looking forward to her time on the couch. She tweeted “I’m super excited to team up with the brilliant @mrjakehumphrey next Friday, hosting @itvthismorning.” ITV have yet to confirm if Amanda and Jake will have a permanent guest slot on the show.
U2′s Adam Clayton to Marry During the Summer U2’s Adam Clayton looks set to leave the bachelor life behind. The bassist has proposed to his Brazilian model girlfriend, Mariana Teixeira, earlier this year and the happy couple have decided to tie the knot this summer. 53-year-old Adam proposed to Mariana at Carnival in Brazil earlier this year and according to a source close to the band, the pair will wed at a private ceremony in France during the summer. It has been speculated that it will take place at the Eze les Roses villa outside Nice which is owned by Adam’s band mates Bono and The Edge and can only be accessed by boat. Mariana and Adam have a four-year-old son together. The couple are known for keeping their relationship private. A source told the Irish Daily Mail “Adam has always kept Mariana out of the limelight. He has never had her out at album launches or at gigs.”

Sassy Vintage: The Great Gatsby: The Roaring Twenties The anticipation for the launch Baz Luhrmann’s film adaptation of Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby had us all in a flap… well, more like a flapper. The high street is brimming with Gatsby-inspired beaded fancies, romantic lace, drop waists and fringing this month. With Luhrmann’s history of bedazzling and decadent films, the world held its breath for the release of this classic story of love, loss, jealousy and betrayal, set to be released on the 17th of May. The film is considered to be the most fashionable film of the year, and judging from Prada’s sketches we can see why. Mulligan’s character, Daisy Buchanan, is set to glitter on screen with a spectacular mint green frock laden with jewels, a neat navy and purple sequined number and a wonderful fur-collared cocktail dress embellished with super-sized golden sequins. Flatley Denies Wanting British Citzenship Lord of the Dance Michael Flatley has rubbished claims he has applied for a British passport, saying he never spoke to journalists about the issue and is deeply proud to be Irish. Flatley was annoyed that a newspaper report said he not only was applying for British citizenship but he would not educate his son anywhere but England. The dancing legend spoke to the Irish Independent saying “I have not applied for UK citizenship and I have not applied for a UK passport,” “I have never applied for a UK passport and I have no idea where these reports came from. “I have not spoken to any journalists about anything of this sort and I have now been in contact with my public relations people about this. “I am very proud to be Irish and nothing has changed in that regard. I love Ireland,” Flatley, whose business ventures are based in the UK, does live there with his wife, Niamh and their son, Michael jnr, who attends school in London but he visits Ireland as much as possible and insists he will always be a true Irish man. The family regularly visit their home in Castlehyde. “My son goes to school in London because my businesses are based here. My wife lives here (London) and there is no way I would want to spend serious time away from my family.” “We come over to Castlehyde as often as we can but, what with family and business commitments, we don’t get there as much as we would both like.” “I grew up being deeply proud of all things Irish from music to literature and nothing will ever change in that regard. I’m Irish and very proud of that fact.” To be honest, we have never seen a prouder Irish man.

Sharon Osbourne Back on X Factor Sharon Osbourne is returning to the x Factor judging panel for this year’s series. Following months of speculation as to who would judge on this year’s show, Sharon’s comeback was officially revealed this morning. Simon Cowell led the congratulations with; ‘Three words I never thought I’d say…. Welcome back Sharon!’ Sharon will be replacing Tulisa Contostavlos completing the panel with Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger. Sharon said this morning; ‘I can’t wait to give Gary Barlow a big hug, sit next to the gorgeous Nicole, and of course throw water on dear Louis. Yay!’ Sharon, of course, was one of the original judges for the show six years ago. According to reports, Sharon is receiving €2 million for her role on the show. Kate Middleton Shines in Yellow The Duchess of Cambridge looked like the picture of summer elegance today as she attended the annual Buckingham Palace garden party. Kate wore a round-neck Emilia Wickstead coat in a gorgeous canary yellow silk. The coat nicely accentuated her burgeoning baby bump and she accessorised it with a cream Jane Corbett hat and her trusty nude pumps. The Queen hosts the garden tea-party every year for 8,000 esteemed members of the public. Kate spent most of the day with her farther-in-law Prince Charles as well as Camilla. This was Kate’s second time attending the party, when she attended last year it was said to be a real rite of passage. This was also the second time Kate attended the party alone, last year William was tied up with work duties and this time prior engagements kept him away.
Ellen DeGeneres Buys $26.5 Million Mansion! Our favourite talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her stunning other half Portia de Rossi have bought a magnificent $26.5 million California mansion in Santa Barbara. This power couple are certainly not feeling the effects of the economic downturn!Their new shelter has space of 10,522 square feet that the pair can get lost in and according to reports, the deal on the property only went through last week. Apparently, the house is one of the best vistas in the state with six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a pool with an ocean view, nine fireplaces and if that wasn’t enough, it also comes with 13 acres of land. The couple, who tied the knot in 2008, have a vast portfolio of beautiful properties which includes several homes in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. 55-year-old Ellen had a recent trauma with one of her plots of property when a farm in Camarillo went up in a blaze. DeGeneres spoke about the frightening event on her show: “It was really scary. There were just fires everywhere. This was our farm. I wasn’t there. We had someone there taking care of it. We had to evacuate the horses and scary as can be. The air quality is still really, really bad out there. But everything was charred. People lost a lot of land. No houses were lost.” On her show today, Ellen was joined with guest of the day Jennifer Aniston when she gave a sincere and sympathetic message to the victims of the Oklahoma tornado: “I take all that love and today I give it to everybody in Oklahoma,” said DeGeneres. “Before I start, I just wanna say that our thoughts and prayers are with everyone there. But I assume if you’re watching, you wanna take a break from the news and laugh for a little while. So, that’s what we’re gonna do and that’s what we try and do every day.”
Spray Tans For Tots – The New Irish Craze We’ve all seen the American reality shows documenting the parents who enter their toddlers into US beauty pageants, coating them in make-up and tan so that they look like mini adults. Although such a spectacle causes many of us to shake our heads in disbelief, it would appear that the trend is now catching on with Irish parents and their children. The Irish Daily Mail today reported that the staff of beauty salons around the country have noticed an increase in the amount of parents requesting that children as young as five years old receive treatments like spray tans and feather extensions for occasions like Communions. Tallaght’s Wild Tanning Co. has seen evidence of this growing trend, with manager Shane Brady telling the Irish Daily Mail: ”We have seen it before, parents coming in trying to get their children spray tanned for Communions, but we refuse to do it. It’s just not appropriate for children that young.” Another unnamed beauty therapist told the newspaper that it seemed to be the parents who were more into the idea than the children themselves. “Parents would come in and actually beg to have young children spray tanned,” she revealed, “but we always say no.” What happened to the good old days of ringlet curls and white woolly tights?
Will SmithTalks Parenting And Working With His Son On His Latest Movie! 44-year-old Will Smith is no stranger to our screens and now his 14-year-old son Jaden is following in his father’s footsteps.The pair will be starring in a new movie together called “After Earth” which is set for release in June. It is a science fiction film, directed by M.Night Shyamalan, that will show earth 1,ooo years into the future. The much anticipated blockbuster tells the story about a young astronaut (Jaden) who lands on a post-apocalyptic earth with his father who will be played by Will. The I Am Legend star opened up to Haute Living in an interview where he talked about parenting, family, his dreams and the concept of life: “I grew up in a family business so my father, my mother and all my brothers and sisters worked in the family business, so that’s really the only way I know how to parent.” He went on to say: “I think that, specifically in African American households, the idea coming out of slavery, there’s a concept of your children being property and that was a major part that Jada and I released with our kids. We respect our children the way we would respect any other person.” Smith showed his deeper side when he spoke about the meaning of life to him: “The concept of life and death is what comes into play as a father. Whether you are watching basketball or washing the dishes, in the mind of a warrior father, everything is life or death. Basic Instinct Stars Reunite Twenty one years ago Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas graced the red carpets to promote the infamous movie, Basic Instinct. Their erotically charged performances gained a lot of coverage, with Stone using the movie as a platform to become a Hollywood A lister. But the Cannes film festival saw the couple reunite on the red carpet for the premiere of Beyond the Candelabra in which he plays flamboyant piano star Liberace – a film far less controversial than the crime thriller which threw them into the spotlight in 1992. And although the years have been kind to Sharon, Michael looked frail yet happy as he smiled for the cameras. Douglas has recently battled cancer and broke down at a press conference when discussing his disease and how this movie helped him fight it. Fighting back tears, he said he was ‘eternally grateful’ for being given the opportunity to play Liberace, adding: ‘It was right after my cancer.’ Stone on the other hand looked sensational in a plunging blue gown, showing us that age really is only a number!
Tweeters Attack Rooney’s Over Baby Name Football star, Wayne Rooney and his pretty wife, Coleen, were over the moon yesterday when they announced via twitter, that they had welcomed another baby boy into the world, but it wasn’t long before fellow tweeters began abusing the Rooney’s over their choice of name and also over the newborns looks. Wayne took to twitter an hour and a half after his new son Klay Anthony was born to share his delight “Our Beautiful Son Klay Anthony Rooney was born at 2.11am, Weighing 7Ib 11.1/2 oz. Both Klay and Coleen are fine….. We’re all delighted!” Within moments the new parents were criticised over their choice of name and some even called the new little boy “ugly”. The Rooney’s have an older boy named Kai, so tweeters went with the obvious remarks, branding both names the same. Comparison to mud, clay and plasticine were also a big hit. The family were also inundated with well wishes for the new family member.

Twink Defends Linda Martin They maybe ‘enemies’ after their infamous fall out while they were both performing ‘Menopause the Musical’ but that didn’t stop Twink defending Linda Martin after she was called a ‘drag queen’ by host Petra Mede, during this year’s Eurovision final, much to the shock of anyone listening. According to the Independent.ie, Twink said There is no love lost between Linda and I but I wouldn’t wish something like that on anyone” “Quite honestly I almost fell off the kitchen stool when I heard what happened. I thought it was very, very nasty” “Linda has represented herself and her country superbly over the years and is a big supporter of the contest.” Twink, whose real name is Adele King also believes the host at the centre of the comment, Petra Mede, was just using the Eurovision as a platform for her own career but at the expense of someone else. “It’s supposed to be a music contest not a vehicle for a would-be comedienne to guarantee herself global attention. “It was a cheap and tacky shot. Yet another blow for the ever-decreasing standards of Eurovision.” Linda Martin has yet to comment about the jibe.
Kim Kardashian: Pregnant And Proud After Khloe’s honest letter attacking critics for commenting on Kim’s weight while she had a growing body inside her, the soon to be mum proved she was at ease with her new shape when she proudly showed off her baby bump in a brown and then white bikini while on a break with her sisters. Kim has come under harsh criticism since falling pregnant with her first child nearly 7 months ago, the reality star opened up recently on twitter about her struggles with her weight saying ‘I struggle finding things that don’t make me look heavy.’ Wearing very little makeup and her hair in braids the reality star looked relaxed and confident with her pregnant figure and RSVP thought she really looked beautiful and sexy. In a letter published on Kim’s website, Khloe wrote about how unhappy she was at the way her sister was being treated: ‘I find it disturbing that society loves to critique a woman’s shape no matter how beautiful or happy she may be within herself. ‘I can not tolerate one more vicious attack on my sister… For anyone to ever criticize a woman who is growing another life inside of her is true scum in my eyes ‘I commend you for not putting your head down and going into hiding like so many would. ‘You live your life and you try to make the best out of a tough situation. ‘I need you to know how truly magnificent you are! Nicky Byrne To Fill in For Ryan Tubridy The Westlife boys are certainly carving out stellar careers for themselves since calling it a day with the band and it looks like Nicky Byrne’s presenting career is about to reach new heights as he will be wearing Ryan Tubridy’s headphones on May 29th as the broadcaster celebrates his 40th birthday. And according to the Herald.ie, Nicky’s mum is over the moon. “I listen to Tubridy in the mornings, so I’m thrilled and delighted about this. It’s the ‘Big One’. “I think presenting is Nicky’s main thing. He’s a real people person; I think he’s heading in that direction.” Nicky’s presenting seems to be going from strength to strength as he is fronting song-writing show The Hit this summer also. Along with all this achievements, the former Westlife star is set to become a dad again as his wife Georgina is expecting their third kid. Great news all around for the Byrne’s.
