CAREER

YOUR PATH INTO THE INDUSTRY…

I’m very lucky, I knew I wanted to get into makeup from a very young age! So in fourth year I did my work experience in TV3, my friend’s mother was head of hair and makeup there so she took me with her every day along with my friend and I loved it! Then after school I went straight onto Senior college Dun Laoighre to do a theatrical and media make up artistry course for a year and then my first job was with Paula Callan and Derrick Carberry in Brown Sugar which had just opened at the time. They were both so amazing and taught me so much! That was ten years ago now and since then I’ve worked in INGLOT in Australia ,Make Up For Ever , Dylan Bradshaw and Charlotte Tilbury and now I’m freelancing full time.

YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT…

My greatest achievement isn’t any of the shows or shoots or celebrities I’ve worked with. I enjoy that side of my job too but for me it’s being able to make someone truly feel their absolute best on their wedding day, I love getting to be a part of such an important moment in someone’s life and although makeup is obviously a very visual thing it really is about giving someone confidence. I love that.

FASHION

YOUR STYLE…

My style is definitely comfy. I love jeans and t shirts and woolly jumpers, leather jackets and big scarves, I love wearing heels but equally love wearing runners! I’d usually try to layer clothes since when you leave the house in the morning it could be freezing and by lunchtime there could be a heatwave, or hailstones!

YOUR STYLE ICONS…

I love Chrissy Teigan and Kate Hudson their hair/make up, and style in general.

YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE…

My favourite piece I own is my wedding dress! I got married last May and had my dress made by an amazing Irish designer called Rebecca Kenny, I saw an evening dress of hers in the design centre in Powerscourt and it was so similar to what I was looking for so she just re made me one exactly the way I wanted it.

BEAUTY

YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE…

My skincare routine is basic enough, I always make sure to take off my make up. It really dehydrates and ages your skin sleeping with make-up on. I use the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess skin clay mask every once in awhile which I love. Then I always always moisturise every morning and evening I love plain old Nivea moisturiser the one in the white tub or Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic cream is also amazing.

YOUR FAVOURITE PRODUCTS…

My favourite Products are hard to pick there’s always something new that I love, but things that I always go back to are: Make Up For Ever face and body foundation, YSL false lash effect mascara, Mary Loumanizer highlighter by The Balm and Charlotte Tilbury’s film star bronze and glow contouring palette.

LIFE

YOUR “ME” TIME…

I have a bit of a candle obsession so I light all the candles and just sit, sometimes I’ll read, other times just sit and listen to music, other times mediate it, all depends on my mood. As much as I love people, I do love spending time on my own.

8

YOUR HOBBIES…

Not everyone would see this as a hobby, but going to the gym with one of my best friends is one of my hobbies! She lives in London but is back and forth all the time so it’s a great way for us to catch up and get a workout in too!

3

YOUR FAVOURITE RESTAURANT…

My absolute favourite restaurant is The House restaurant in Howth village. It’s only down the road from our house and the food is so amazing!

6

YOUR FAVOURITE HOLIDAY DESTINATION…

My favourite place that I’ve ever been is Vietnam, we went to Vietnam and Thailand on our honeymoon and I just loved Vietnam so much, it’s totally different to anywhere I’ve ever been before, the people are so gorgeous and I just found it so beautiful and interesting.

YOUR STRESS BUSTING TIP…

Walking on the Burrow Beach with my boys (My husband Phil and our dog Mylo who I’m totally obsessed with.) it’s so beautiful down there no matter what the weathers like and it really clears my head.

HOME

YOUR STYLE…

Our house is cosy with a beachy cottage type of feel. I like a mix of old and new, I like it to look decorated but not cluttered. I can’t relax if there’s clutter. I light about 50 candles every night, no exaggeration I have them everywhere, and I love having fresh flowers in the house too they really brighten up a room and make me smile every time I look at them.

9

YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE…

My favourite piece in our house would have to be our couch. We couldn’t find one that we loved when we were looking so ended up getting it made and it’s so comfortable.
