CAREER

Your path into the industry…

After graduating from my degree in Interactive Multimedia Design, I went on to study with the BBC in Radio Techniques, TV and Journalism. It was here that I decided that I wanted to start a career within the media industry focusing on fashion and beauty. After finishing my course with the BBC, I then went on to write for The Irish News for three years as a fashion columnist. I had also started up my own blog (www.niamhkelly.wordpress.com) and since then I have had the opportunity to work with amazing people and travel to various events. I’ve also had the chance to be an assistant to a stylist on various campaigns and shows.

Your greatest achievement…

Having the opportunity to interview Katie Price and Louise Redknapp for their beauty collections. I felt that being given such responsibility at a young age with little experience was an honour for me. I enjoyed both experiences and will cherish the memories.

FASHION

Your style…
My style changes every so often. For a few years, I was very much a bold print and vibrant colour type of girl. However, until recently I have went back to basics with neutral tones and simplistic structures. I love my key statement pieces that I enjoy pairing with basic elements to incorporate a more sophisticated look. It also depends on what mood I’m in, there are times when I enjoy dressing up and other times I love putting on a mans white shirt or hoodie with a cool pair of torn boyfriend jeans and loafers.

Your style icons…

Olivia Palermo would be one of my favourite style icons. She is incredibly chic and have a fantastic eye for styling bold yet timeless looks. I also take inspiration from Alexa Chung and fellow fashion bloggers, Alexandra Pereira and Margaret Zhang. Sometimes just looking at a piece of clothing with an open and creative mind can be just as inspiring.

Your favourite piece…

My favourite piece has to be my Manolo Blahniks that I got for my 21st birthday in London. They are my absolute treasures that I cherish. They are called Bottana are they are a beautiful fuchsia pink shade with coloured Swarovski crystals at the front of the shoe. I’ve yet to wear them as I’m hoping to save them for my Wedding Day.

BEAUTY

Your skincare routine…
I try to keep my skincare routine as simple as possible. I have extremely sensitive skin so less is definitely more for me. I cleanse my face with Bioderma Solution Micellaire water and Nip + Fab foaming gel. After I’ll apply Bioderma’s Hydrabio serum and spritz my face in the Body Shop’s Vitamin E Face Mist. Finally I will put on some gel based moisturiser from Nip + Fab. I try to use products with hydrochloric and salicylic acid for some hydration and deep clean.

Your favourite products…
I can’t get enough of Bioderma products. They are so natural and refreshing on my skin. When it comes to make up, I love NARS Sheer Glow foundation, Charlottle Tilbury Vintage Vamp Palette and my YSL lipsticks. I’m a lover of high end brands.

LIFE

10

Your ‘me’ time…
I always find this to be crucial in my life. Sometimes i just love nothing more than sitting in a park and indulging in some people watching and taking in everything around me. Of course a hot bubble bath always helps as does blogging.

Your hobbies…
Photography is definitely a hobby of mine. I love looking at things as a blank canvas and allowing my mind to create a new take on things. Whether it is capturing a moment from a different angle or in a certain light, I just find it so therapeutic.

3

Your favourite restaurant…
As a child, I spent every summer in County Kerry where we rented a home in Cromane which is just outside Killorglin. There is a restaurant there called Jack’s and it’s an incredible place to eat. The sea food is sourced locally and it tastes so fresh. It’s also located alongside the sea so you get a beautiful view.

5

Your favourite holiday destination…
It has to be a toss up between New York and Kerry. I’ve always dreamed of living in the Big Apple and I try to go as often as I can. Kerry obviously holds a special place in my heart and it is where I go to clear my head and appreciate our beautiful green Isle.

4

Your stress-busting tip…
Get out into the fresh air and put your headphones on. Drifting into your own little bubble and forgetting about the real world for a while is a beautiful gift. Also, I find going to my boxing class helps if you’ve had a bad day.

HOME

1

Your style…
My home style would be based around small details. I enjoy creating some DIY projects for myself and incorporating my own personal taste into a space. Simplistic with creative elements would be a way to sum up my interior style.

Your favourite piece…
It would definitely have to be my desk/vanity area. I put a lot of effort and time into decorating it and creating a calm and inspiring environment. It is where I create all of my blog features and work so I need it to have a peaceful feel to it in order for the creative juices to flow.
