There was one (hopefully) final blow for Shane Filan today as his self-built mansion, once valued at €10million, sold for just over €800,000.
The palatial home, that was built just ten years ago, has been on the market for some time but sold via auction for just over €800,000.
Auctioneer David Reyonlds couldn’t give details about the new owner, except that they lived abroad and plan on spending plenty of time in Carraroe. He said:
The contracts have been signed and the sale should be closed within days. Anybody buying that house could be described as high profile. It’s still a big price to pay for a house in Sligo.
Five acres of gardens are included in the home, and according to The Irish Mirror at one point Shane turned down an offer of €10million for the mansion.
Don’t feel too sorry for the singer though; Shane, his wife Gillian and their three children live in a £2.2 million house in Surrey after filing bankruptcy in the UK.
