Shock as Westmeath Hurling Star Sadly Passes Away After Training Session

The GAA community has been left in shock after the sudden death of a Westmeath hurler.

Donal Devine died suddenly after training with his club Castlepollard last night.

A spokesperson for Westmeath GAA told Independent.ie that Donal took ill immediately after a training session and sadly passed away.

The 40-year-old had won four senior county championships with his club in 1995, 1997, 2003 and 2005.

He also played at inter-county level for Westmeath.

According to Independent.ie, his brother Alfie is an inter-county referee while his nephew Alan plays for the Westmeath senior team.

Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time….
