Sole Survivor of Clondalkin fire told of her children’s death
It’s been revealed that the sole survivor the horrific Clondalkin fire last month has finally been told the heart-breaking news of her children’s death.
Six weeks after the horrific fire which claimed her two young children, son Jordan, 4 and daughter Holly, 3, survivor Biddy O’Brien, 31, has been told her children died in the fire.
According to The Sun, partner James broke the news to Biddy as soon as she was well enough.
Biddy’s cousin told The Irish Sun:
“They have now talked about the tragedy. Jamie has told Biddy that both their children died in the fire. He told her what happened. Of course Biddy took it really hard. Now they are on the long road of trying to deal with the huge grief. It was the toughest conversation of Jamie’s life. He has been carrying the news since the tragedy. He has been waiting for her condition to improve to tell her their children are dead. It has been a massive weight on his shoulders. How do you come to terms with this? I think the only thing that is keeping the family going are the messages of support. They have a long, long road ahead and will need all the support they can get.”
Biddy’s pregnant cousin Annemarie O’Brien, 27 and her daughter Paris, 2, were also killed by the fire in Annemarie’s apartment at Kilcronan estate in Clondalkin last month.
Our thoughts are with her at this heartbreaking time.
