Tesco send warning to customers as they recall products after packaging mix up
Tesco have warned customers to be careful, and to return certain products, after a packaging mix-up has sparked allergen concerns.
Customers are being urged not to eat the affected products and to instead return them for a full refund.
The products being recalled are their 400g packs of Tesco Oriental Kitchen Chicken Chow Mein off its shelves, after they realised that their Tesco Chicken Curry had been packaged into the Tesco Oriental Kitchen Chicken Chow Mein packaging.
This means that the ready meal poses a health risk for people with an allergy or intolerance to egg, milk or milk constituents, mustard and sesame.
Lindt & Sprungli have also recalled two products, their Excellence Dark Extra Fine Shell Egg and Lindor Strawberries & Cream Shell Egg, because Barley wasn’t mentioned on the label.
The FSA said the Lindt priducts do not pose a risk to consumers with coeliac disease, just those with allergies to Barley.
Customers are being urged to return the products to the store that they purchased them from.
