Have you ever wondered what happens in the body when you have certain feelings, hunches or what are often known as gut feelings? Well this is your intuition, something that we have suppressed since our childhood simply because our world revolves around the five senses of touch, taste, smell ,sight and hearing. However, there is a whole new world inside of us and if we can harness it, our lives could be so different.

Recently you may recall that Chelsea Football Club won the UEFA Championship League against all odds, but what was different was that all the commentators were saying things like “We have a feeling” or “This is their year, their name is on the cup” – and so it was. All the intuitive signals pointed to an outcome that did not fit into the normal run of things, but nevertheless it happened. Have you ever thought of someone and you then bumped into them or they just happened to phone? What’s going on?

It’s your intuition. You see, it happens all of the time. A mother uses those extra senses with her children and knows that something is about to go wrong before it ever happens. All this is called our intuition. By developing our intuition we can have much happier lives and greater control over our own destiny.

So how can you develop and use this powerful ability?

1. What does it mean to be intuitive?

By being intuitive you are accessing that inner guidance that allows you to prepare for certain events in your life and prevent certain negative experiences occurring. It will give you an element of control over your life’s journey and provide you with that inner knowing of security and calmness. Being intuitive also allows you to have a clear image of the shape your life will take and trusting in that divine aspect of you which is nourishment for the soul.

2. Being aware and not afraid.

The key is to be continuously aware of your feelings and your past experiences. What have they taught you and how many times have you had these feelings that actually became positive or negative? You must not be afraid of this because people become scared and don’t know how to handle it so they dismiss it and think it’s something evil. Your intuition uses the information gathered by being mindful, so the more you have available, the better the solution. The knowledge and understanding gathered from your experience
determines the quality of insight provided by your intuition. Sometimes your intuition occurs through flashes of inspiration or even through dreams. So be aware and not afraid.

3. Practice being intuitive.

Before you go to bed at night, reflect upon questions and issues for which you couldn’t find solutions during the day. Think about and explore different possibilities. This will trigger your imagination. and together with that trust and inner guidance, you will find solutions spontaneously emerge out of what seems to be nowhere the next day, but you have to be patient.

4. Visualisation

Practising visualisation techniques is another component of being intuitive because it’s not just the feeling or sensing, it is the seeing with that which is often called the third eye. By seeing what you would like as the outcome helps create focus and energise the outcome.

5. Benefits of Intuition

• Intuition will point you in the direction you need to go at any given moment.
• It will guide you step-by-step with what you need to fulfil your dreams and achieve your goals.
• It will help you make the correct decision in stressful times as well as help you overcome your fears and doubts.
• You will feel in control with less anxiety
• People who develop their intuition find that it brings them into a deep relationship with their spiritual nature, and brings that spiritual connection into their daily lives.

Overall, this awakening of your intuitive self gives you hope, enabling your true potential to emerge. It will also raise your energy frequency and consciousness to a level that will make you a happier, healthier and compassionate being with the ability to guide many others to that safe space.

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honours the servant and has forgotten the gift. We will not solve the problems of the world from the same level of thinking we were at when we created them. More than anything else, this new century demands new thinking: We must change our materially-based analyses of the world around us to include broader, more multidimensional perspectives.”
