About The Festival

Saturday 15th September
2012 Oyster Gala Celebrations
Time: 4.30 p.m. until late ( music until 1.30 a.m.)
Tickets: €45 per person
Venue: Festival Marquee
The 2012 Oyster Gala Celebrations promises to be a spectacular day filled with the finest food, incredible live music and competitions.
The unique Clarenbridge oyster will be available to sample throughout the day, as well as an array of delicious freshly prepared dishes including, seafood chowder, seafood platters, salads and a range of savoury foods.
Live music will be performed throughout the evening from outstanding bands including Top of the PopZ, The Jim McKee Band, Pulse and Jon Conover.
Throughout the event, the festival will host its annual oyster opening and oyster eating competitions, as well as its classic, brush dance competition and ‘Pearl of the Sea’ most stylishly dressed competition. As a prize, Galway Now have sponsored a luxury weekend for two in a four star hotel to include a champagne reception and spa treatment.
Make sure to wear your dancing shoes, as the exciting musical line up for this year’s Oyster Gala Celebrations will have you dancing all night long!
Sunday 16th September
Festival Family Fun Day
Tickets: €10 for adults and free for children under 12
The 2012 Festival Family Fun Day will be jam-packed with wonderful fresh food, amazing live music, games and activities to entertain all the family.
As well as the succulent oysters and seafood platters, a mouth-watering carvery lunch will be available to purchase. Children’s menus will also be available.
There will be an abundance of activities and games throughout the day including our annual tug of war, a duck race in the river Clarin, a children’s pearl hunt and colouring competitions.
