A 15-year-old girl died after being hit by a bus after being struck by a car in fatal road accident.

So tragic.

The teenager, named locally as Megan Scott, was attempting to cross a busy dual-carriageway when she sadly lost her life.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on the A749 in East Kilbride, Scotland shortly before 6pm on Wednesday.

Megan, of Lanarkshire, died from her injuries soon after the incident.

According to the Daily Star, a Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At around 5.50pm on Wednesday, October 18, police received a report of a pedestrian being struck by a car on the A749 near to the Whirlies roundabout.

“Emergency services attended but the girl died at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing at this time.”

Police in the area are urging members of the public or anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist in their investigation.
