Audrey Hepburn’s Beehive, Bob Marley’s Dreadlocks And ‘The Rachel’ Top List Of Most Iconic Hairstyles
As much we loathe to admit it, it’s sometimes scary just how easily influenced we are by our favourite celebrities, and a recent poll into the most iconic hairstyles of all time has certainly proven that.
It was Audrey Hepburn’s famous beehive bouffant that came out head and shoulders above the rest on the poll, reaffirming the legendary actress’ style icon status.
Given how often Audrey’s face frequents everything from advertisements to college dorm walls, the top spot was hardly a shock. More surprising – but no less deserving – were the second and third place styles: Elvis’ signature black quiff and Bob Marley’s long dreadlocks.
When it comes to cult styles, the first thing that jumped to our minds was Friends star Jennifer Aniston’s ‘Rachel’, and indeed the choppy cut took the fourth spot, followed by Amy Winehouse’s signature beehive at number five.
Other notables on the list include Farah Fawcett’s golden flicks (number 8), curiously enough Princess Leia’s ‘Cinnamon buns’ (number 20) and Sinéad O’Connor’s shaved head at number 24.
