A boat with 8 passengers on board has capsized off the Sligo coast according to reports by The Irish Independent.

Two men have been brought to hospital and one is believed to be in a serious condition after the boat capsized off the cost of Sligo.

A man has been airlifted by the Rescue 118 helicopter to Sligo Hospital.

A second man was also taken to hospital following a head injury.

Malin Head Coastguard received the May-Day call at 11.25am this morning after a local diving club’s boat upturned. There were 8 men on board the boat which capsized in waters offshore of Skreen in the southern part of Sligo Bay.

All men were recovered by 12pm as Rescue Helicopter 118 was in nearby Blacksod as part of the search for missing Rescue 116.

One man was airlifted to hospital while a second was taken by ambulance. The other six men did not require hospitalization.
