A simple hack has revealed how to double your holiday days in 2018 without having to take any extra annual leave.

Most people have around 25 days holidays a year.

However, if you’d like to spin out your holiday a little longer it’s actually surprisingly simple.

The trick is to combine holidays with public holidays for maximum impact.

According to instantoffices.com you can give yourself a longer holiday from work simply by mapping out your days off based on the calendar.

So by combining days off around bank holiday weekends, Easter and Christmas you could turn 25 days in 50 days.

This year, the days before Christmas and New Year fall on a weekend, when most people will already be off work, meaning you’ll probably be given time off in lieu and still have the weekend to enjoy without using your own annual leave dates.

This means to be out of the office from December 23rd, to the 1st of January you would only need to book three days off work!

Likewise if you book the week before the Easter bank holiday plus the week after, thanks to the bank holiday, you would have 16 days off but will have used up only eight days from your annual leave.

But the key is to book your dates off first so you can get the optimum holiday leave, so be quick!
