€18k of tax payers money spent on Female Underwear in the Army
Yes ladies you heard it right! These women are getting their panties paid for and it’s not cheap!
€18,000 of tax payers money was spent on keeping our female soldiers comfortable in knickers, bras and pj’s this year.
318 female soldiers received an Underwear and Night Attire Allowance that has cost the taxpayer a total of €10,249 and 277 of our women in uniform were given €7,673 to stock up on military-grade smalls. Don’t worry we’re also wondering what kind of protection these super army undies can offer…
This perk of the job has increased in value from €27.40 to €32.22 since 2012 according to the Irish Sun. Why didn’t anyone tell us about the knicker price inflation!
The Department of Defence who has argued to retain this rate it “obviates the need for the Defence Forces to administer the provision of clothing which is very specific to a female personnel’s individual requirement, ie: individual bra and undergarment sizes.”
In other words, these women won’t be buying from penneys anyways!
