RSVP’s Style Squad: Katie Talks Fab Autumn Footwear

With guest blogger Katie Healy

It’s officially autumn and time to retire our bright, sparkly, sizzling summer shoes and reacquaint our feet with rain, wind and in some cases snow proof footwear.

Here’s my top 4 stylish picks to keep your feet toasty warm and trendy in the coming months.

Ballet Flats

Elegant, stylish and most importantly comfortable. Every fashionista worth her salt will have at least one pair of ballet flats tucked away in her wardrobe. Celebrities such as Amy Winehouse and SJP’s portrayal of Carrie Bradshaw has us all sold on the chic and trendy ballet flats, thankfully a trend that is not going away any time soon.

The perfect shoes for office, college and day to day life, simplistic and practical shoes really are tough to beat. Buying a good quality shoe with a sturdy sole means your feet won’t be drenched the second you step outside. Sticking to black patent also means you will get value for money as they will go with almost everything while still looking stylish and cute. These Miss KG lola2 ballet flats tick all the boxes but sill ensure you look cute with a darling bow appliquéd on to the front.

For ladies who like their footwear to make a statement, the go-to man of the moment without doubt is Mr Jeffrey Campbell. His integration of studs, baroque fabrics and carved wooden heels has celebrities and fans alike going nuts over his creations. Jeffrey’s shoes first came to notoriety thanks to websites such as tumblr – his Lita heels became an internet sensation, and now his spiked and studded heels are not far behind the Litas in earning cult status.

The Aubrey Wedge is plain and conservative when viewed from the front but the moment you turn around to expose the back, pure metal and attitude emanates from the heel. For every woman who ever felt a bit rock and roll, these shoes are a (surprisingly comfortable) must-have.

Riding Boots

Perfect for wet dismal days, these boots effortlessly pull an outfit together -preppy, polished and well dressed. Riding boots add a touch of class to an outfit. These boots are a great investment as they are definitely going to last you more than one season. These beauties are the Percival cut out riding boots from Top Shop. There pin stud rand caught my eye as well as the cut out section at the back of the knee for optimum comfort and edge.

High Heels

When it comes to high heels, more often than not I look for something that looks a million dollars without the price tag to match. These pretty heels really reminded me of the highly sought-after Christian Louboutin Lady Peeps. Top Shop’s Serenade2 peep toe court shoe is a pretty high heel that won’t set you back a small fortune, but will have you towering above the crowds. The burgundy faux snakeskin embossed leather is a beautiful texture and colour, a nice change from the pastel shoes we were bombarded with over the summer. The perfect towering heels for autumn.

Am such a fan of wedgies! I can walk normally in them at a decent speed and they give me great height. Great post Ms Katie!
