The bad weather isn’t set to leave us just yet, as it’s been confirmed that we will be hit by at least four more storms in the coming months.

Storms Hector, Octavia, Tali and Winifred have been named by Dublin Live as the high profile storms to watch out for.

The series of storms will hit Ireland over the coming months, coming in the wake of the trail of devastation left by Ophelia and Brian.

While today is off to a drier and calmer start than we’ve had all week, it seems we will have at least four more storms in coming weeks.

The names for Irish and UK storms are chosen by forecasters in Met Eireann and the Met Office.

According to Dublin Live, the criteria for a storm being named are: “A wind storm with potential for significant land-based impact has been forecast. A severe wind event giving rise to status Orange or status Red weather warnings."
