Kathryn Thomas Opens Up About The Most Exciting Part Of Her Whole Wedding
Kathryn Thomas is an adrenalin junkie: she hates it when life gets too settled and thrives on the unpredictability of her TV and radio career.
At 38, the RTÉ presenter admits she’s not a planner and likes to take a few risks, saying: “I would hate to overthink things and never do them because I am too afraid.” This determination to succeed and never give up is the reason her health and fitness business, Pure Results Bootcamp, is thriving nearly three years on. And her relationship with fiancé Pádraig McLoughlin is in a good place too, with the pair looking forward to their “laidback” wedding abroad next year.
“For me, having a wedding wasn’t a big thing. But we had been together four years and it was something we talked about and discussed. It wasn’t a big surprise at all, but it felt right.”
Although Kathryn seems relaxed about planning her wedding, which will take place abroad next year, it seems her bridesmaid are getting super excited about the hen party “That is the most exciting part of the whole thing. My friends are all getting involved in what’s happening; they are all mental yet they are all so different! I would be happy staying in Ireland, to go down to Kerry, sing songs in a pub… but I have no idea what is going to happen. It is going to be a surprise.”
Kathryn’s fiancée Padraig has a 21-year-old son Connor but the popular television presenter said she would like to start a family of her own although she doesn’t feel under pressure “I don’t worry about it – what is meant to be, is meant to be. I have that attitude with everything: family, career, relationships. But we would love to have a family, if that is afforded to us. Right now, however, it doesn’t stress me at all.”
Speaking about her positive outlook on life, Kathryn does admit she worries like anyone else but not enough to stop her achieving goals,
“I worry for sure, but it would never stop me doing anything. It comes back to a level of confidence and fearlessness. I don’t like things being too settled in life, I never have. I like the adrenalin rush so that is why a career in TV suits me. You can’t plan, you don’t know if you will have a job from one year to the next, you have no pension, you are considered extinct by the time you are hitting 50, but I just like to take risks in life. I would hate to overthink things and never do them because I am too afraid.”
