Markus Feehily has paid tribute to Pat “Fitzy” Fitzpatrick

Markus Feehily has paid tribute to Pat “Fitzy” Fitzpatrick following his sad death earlier this week.

The Westlife singer and the famed Aslan keyboardist previously worked on a project together.

Fitzy lost his battle with cancer, with the sad news emerging on Thursday afternoon.

“Very sad 2 hear about Aslans Pat Fitzpatrick

“I sincerely enjoyed jamming with him for the 1st couple of mins of this,” said Mark alongside a video.

After the news broke, Christy Dignam told The Irish Sun he was “the sixth member of Aslan.”

“Fitzy has left a huge hole behind in our lives both as a musician and a friend.

“It’s wasn’t just music, Fitzy was a lovely human being. He played with such feeling.”

He was laid to rest at the Mount Jerome crematorium in South County Dublin this morning.

Among those pay their respects were Singer Mary Coughlan, Composer Bill Whelan and Christy Dignam.

May he rest in peace.
