Met Éireann’s deputy head of forecasting names the TOP 4 counties that will be hit by Storm Brian

It’s only a few days since Storm Ophelia was battering our shores and now the country is gearing up for a second storm.

Storm Brian is due to arrive tonight bringing stormforce winds and 20-50mm of rain in it’s wake.

Speaking on Morning Ireland the weather presenter Evelyn Cusack said that the areas worst affected by Storm Brian will be Kerry, Cork, parts of Limerick and Clare.

There is also risk of local flooding in affected areas, as well as in coastal counties with a status Orange wind warning in place until tomorrow evening for: Mayo, Galway, Clare, Kerry, Cork, Waterford and Wexford

“There will be very high seas, so there will be a risk of some coastal flooding” Met Éireann have warned.

The wind direction of Storm Brian has been reported as changeable by Morning Ireland, “The winds picking up steadily today, the low center... Storm Brian will be gradually pushing in this evening and tonight. With strong to easterly winds and then tonight and tomorrow veering west and northwest” says Cusack.
