#MothersDayLetters: Johnny Ward Writes Letter To His Mother Kathy For Mother’s Day
“A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dates all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.”
As mother’s day is fast approaching, yes, this Sunday folks, we speak to seven celebrities who tells us about their loving bond with their mums by writing an open letter, starting with Fair City’s Johnny Ward,
“To Kathy Ward – aka the best mother anyone could ever ask for.
“You really are one in a million. Thank you so much for everything you have ever done for me in my life.
“From the days of you lying to my teachers in school, when you knew they were right about my behaviour. When I did smash that window, or hit that kid, or soaked that supervisor, and yes, called that big angry teacher something other then sir(!) – you were always there for me, even to this day.
“I will never ever forget how sick you were when I was ”Gavroche” in “Les Miserables” at the Point Depot in 1999 with Colm Wilkinson – and you still used to take me there and back for those four months; getting the bus in Walkinstown and walking with me from O’Connell Street to the Point Depot every day.
“You will always be my Number One and the love I have for you is never ending. Even when you absolutely wreck my head, exaggerate, read my letters, call my friends ‘scumbags’, twist my words, and treat dad like he is an “ignorant lodger”.
“You really are the best. Expect flowers and a beautiful gift.
“Love you so much, mum
