One person has died and ten people are injured in New York’s Times Square
One person has died and ten people are injured following a serious incident in New York’s Times Square.
The injuries and death occurred after a speeding car struck pedestrians this evening.
The New York Police Department has closed down the area in midtown Manhattan as the driver is arrested.
The City is in lockdown as pictures of the accident flood in on social media.

Sky News reports: “A witness told Reuters news agency they have seen seven people being loaded onto stretchers, shoes scattered around the scene and one person covered in a bloodstained blanket.
“An injured pedestrian says the driver’s actions appeared to have been ‘intentional’.

Eyewitnesses in the Big Apple said the vehicle drove against traffic and onto the pavement.
Emergency services have been rushed to the scene.
