Do you watch what you eat and drink?
I tend to be conscious of what I eat and drink, but I do not count calories – I don’t believe in that. I got a Fitbit for Christmas and I am obsessed with the number of steps I take every day. I know that if I went down the road of counting calories that I would become fixated and I don’t want to be that person.

Do you do any regular exercise?
I walk my two dogs about four times a week and my wife Cathy looks after them for the other three days. I do a 5K walk at a very brisk pace and they are very demanding. I like to play golf when the weather allows and I hit the gym on average about once a week.

How do you destress after a long day in studio?
I don’t, because my work doesn’t stress me and I thrive on my job. I like to relax by watching mindless television or Narcos on Netflix at the end of the day, something that is going to be relatively harmless.

Do you look after your mental health?
I keep myself very busy and I think that there is a link between physical and mental wellbeing. I believe in the Latin quote “Mens sana in corpore sano”, a sound mind in a sound body. If you are reasonably healthy and fit, it does play into your mental health as well. Keep being interesting and keeping busy seems to move for me in terms of looking after myself.

What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to treating yourself?
A toffee apple slice from Country Bake in Dalkey.

Do your kids try to make you eat healthier?
My kids always try and make me healthier, anytime we are out for food they order salad on the side and I always order chips. They are quick to say, “Oh no, not again!”
