Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll turn down TWO huge magazine deals for their wedding
Fans might have to wait a lot longer than they expected to see snaps of this Big Day!
Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll have reportedly turned down two major magazine deals for exclusive coverage of their wedding.
The Irish golfer is set to wed his American fiancé in Ashford Castle, Co. Mayo tomorrow.
According to the Irish Daily Star, magazines have offered the happy couple €1 million for exclusive photos – but their offers were swiftly rejected.
A source told the publication: “Erica is just as private as Rory is. They just want to enjoy their big special day and keep everything to themselves.
“They were inundated with offers from magazines but they turned them all down. They don’t care about magazine deals.”
The only way that fans will get a glimpse of Erica’s gown will be if the couple decide to share snaps on their social media pages.
The source added: “The only pictures people will see will be coming from Erica and Rory’s social media accounts.”
In December 2015, it was revealed that the pair had gotten engaged while on a trip to Paris, and it seemed that Rory had finally found the right woman to spend the rest of his life with, after ending his engagement to former Fiance Caroline over a phonecall.
According to The Irish Independent, the lavish four day wedding ceremony is understood to cost is excess of €500,000 – with Ashford Castle and most hotels and guest houses in nearby Cong block booked for the wedding.
Security patrols are also in place around the sprawling estate to deal with photographers who may want to try and get a snap of the celebrity couple and their VIP guests, including Brian O’Driscoll, Jamie Dornan and Nially Horan to name a few.
US pop star, Stevie Wonder, was scheduled to fly into Ireland last night to perform at the wedding, and it has also been rumoured that Coldplay and Ed Sheeran will be there on the big day to serenade the happy couple and their wedding guests.
In Cong village, locals said they hadn’t recalled such excitement since the 1951 filming of ‘The Quiet Man’ and the 1984 visit by US President Ronald Reagan.
Of course, Pierce Brosnan and Westlife’s Shane Filan also got married here, but the excitement of tomorrow seems to be on a whole other level…
Now isn’t that something!
