A rough sleeper was discovered dead in Dublin's Temple Bar overnight.

The man 'may have lay there for hours before he was found,' according to Independent.ie.

The man, who has not been named, was discovered without a pulse in Adair Lane in Dublin's Temple Bar at around 2am.

He was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Speaking to Independent.ie, a Garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating the sudden death of a man at Adair Lane, Dublin 2. He is yet to be identified.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious at this time."

The deceased man is the latest rough sleeper to tragically lose his life in Ireland in recent weeks.

Last month a man who was sleeping rough in a tent in Bray, Co Wicklow was discovered unresponsive by his partner.
