RSVP Reader Reviews – Tan

One item that’s sure to be in every girl’s beauty arsenal is a great fake tan, but with so many on options on the shelves choosing can get a bit confusing.  With that in mind, we had some of our readers take a look at three top tans to see what you should consider and which aren’t worth the trouble.

Tester – Orla Murphy
Tried – bBold Smart Mousse €14.95
Verdict – 4.5/5

I’m usually really pale so I only used the bBold tan one hour before showering to see what it was like as I’ve had spray tans done before and even when I’ve ensured they were very light, and they’re still too dark for my skin. However, this tan was great and gradually built up throughout the day so by the evening time I had a light golden bronze sheen look over my skin. I had just a light glow but as I’m usually pale paper white so this was a big difference for me! I would definitely recommend again

Tester – Laura Mulligan

Tried –Tan Organic Self Tanning Oil €24.99

Verdict – 3.5/5

I’m not the best at applying tan so was looking forward to trying out Tan Organic. It’s easy to apply, lovely light fresh smell but you would need a few baby wipes or wash hands after. The fake tan smell develops as the tan develops. If you want a dark tan a couples of layers are needed. It’s more of an orange based tan than brown tan.

Tester – Theresa O’Kane

Tried – Bellamianta Self Tanning Lotion €19.95

Verdict – 5/5

This Irish made tan’s formula is free of chemical nasties, packs a nutritional punch of fruit extracts to replenish your skin and has no tell-tale tan smell.  It dries rapidly, applies easily and develops into an authentic holiday glow without streaking or transferring and fades up evenly. The mitt (it has a thumb!) and this long-wearing tan are a welcome addition to my beauty arsenal, with the efficacy of the product making it worth its price tag.
