It was a night of fun and fashion as the winners of the RSVP/ Oasis Style Blogger 2013 competition were announced on Thursday night,  October 10th, at a special reception in the Oasis store on Stephens Green.

The competition, which called for the cream of Irish blogging talent to blog their unique take on the Autumn/ Winter 2013 trends, came to a stylish ending last night as the People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice winners were announced.

The thirty finalists and their guests were given the royal treatment upon arrival, walking down the red carpet to receive their blogger goody bags and indulge in some light refreshments, courtesy of Corona Light and Bijou Bistro Rathgar.

MC for the event, TV3’s Deric Hartigan, kicked off the proceedings with his usual flair, as the chosen thirty posed for photographs and enjoyed the musical stylings of the in-store DJ.

Special guests and judges Ian Galvin, Chairman of Aurora Fashion Ireland, and Debbie O’Donnell, producer of TV3’s Xposé, joined RSVP Magazine’s Online Editor Jane Lundon to announce the results of both the People’s Choice online poll and the Judges’ Choice to the awaiting fashion pack.

And there was rapturous applause for Nicola McLaughlin, blogger at The Sequin Cinderella, who topped the online poll as the People’s Choice RSVP/ Oasis Style Blogger 2013, and Claire Jameson, blogger at Justified By Jemo, who received the judges’ vote.

As they say, the busy world of fashion never stops, and this certainly proved true for Nicola and Claire, who were then set the challenge of styling three looks using the new season Oasis Autumn/ Winter 2013 collection.

Against the clock, the winners put their fashion wisdom into action to produce three key looks, and present them in a style workshop to their fellow bloggers. And the consensus was that it was a job well done by the two fashionistas, who honed in on the leopard print, leather look and fluffy knit trends that are so popular this Autumn/ Winter.

As you would expect from a room full of Ireland’s top fashion bloggers, there was some truly fabulous style on show at the reception, and it fell to Oasis’ resident stylist, Christine Murphy, to take on the unenviable task of selecting the event’s best-dressed fashionistas.

It was Aoibhe Devlin of The Secret Obsession who took the title, looking stunning and super chic in a sky blue blazer and shorts ensemble, with leopard print shirt and black laced court shoes. And taking the second spot was Sinéad Carroll of Yummy Mummy Fashion and Lifestyle Blog, who rocked the monochrome look flawlessly in a black lace detail dress and black and white courts.

With the night drawing to an end, our bloggers took some time to peruse the new season Oasis Autumn/Winter collection and make some all-important purchases before leaving!
