Spa Spy: Galgorm Resort, Ballymena
De-stressing is something I always struggle with, so anything that promises to help me relax is sure to grab my attention. So trying the new ‘Taste of Galgorm’ which promised the ultimate in relaxation was high on the agenda.
The treatment which is exclusive to the award winning Spa at the four star Galgorm Resort, Ballymena uses Irish organic brand Voya, and combines five specialised treatments.
From the moment I entered the spa, I knew the treatment would be good, even the usual questionnaire had more attention to detail than usual. Every area of my treatment preferences were considered right down to music choices and how much or little conversation I would welcome from my therapist. I just wanted to chill out, so after briefly running through my treatment, the therapist got to work.
The treatment began with a muscle melting back massage with warm organic body oil, next came a nourishing hair mask, I opted out of the head message, choosing to focus instead on a blissful arm and hand massage, next and always my favourite part, I had a mini facial using some of the gorgeous Voya oils and Laminaria eye compresses to brighten the eye area and finally the treatment ended with a pressure point foot massage.
By the end I was so relaxed I was struggling to stay awake, but I was gently guided to the relaxation room where a refreshing sorbet and glass of prosecco awaited me. My skin was glowing after the treatment so much so, that I didn’t bother with make-up for the next few days, but most of all I just felt thoroughly de-stressed and much more relaxed than usual.
A definite must try for the busy and harassed among you!
