- If you’re planning on trying anything dramatically different to your usual hair and make-up, make sure you get your wedding stylist and make-up artist to do a trial beforehand, if possible, giving yourself plenty of time in advance to change your mind. Some of the current hot trends for bridal make-up include a coral lip (a contemporary alternative to red – think Kendall Jenner), flicked eyeliner and gorgeous, dewy skin. Hair is all about tumbling tresses – think Hollywood glam with a softer twist.
- It can be a stressful time in the run up to the wedding, and this can wreak havoc on your skin. It sounds obvious, but drinking water and getting plenty of rest will pay dividends.
- If you have very oily skin, try skipping moisturiser the night and day before the wedding, in consultation with your beauty therapist or make-up artist. This will ensure that the make-up doesn’t slide off your face in the middle of a warm, muggy Irish summer! For all skin types, avoid using any new products beforehand, in case you have an allergic reaction. You can never be too careful!
- It might be tempting to go all out with tan on your big day, but this should be approached with extreme caution as streaking or a colour that’s too dark will be hard to fix and will be very apparent in photographs.
- To get the most out of your bridal hair, if you’re going for waves, ask your stylist for a slightly tighter curl as this will loosen throughout the day and will last longer.
