Father asks for advice after his dog bites his daughter
A father has written into Red FM in Cork to ask for advice about what to do with his dog who bit his daughter.
In his message the man says that his 10 year old daughter was bitten by his collie dog, but that he doesn’t want to put him down.
His daughter was left with 8 stitches around her eye after being bitten. The father says that he has tried to give the dog up to another home, but that no-one will take him, and that the shelters cannot help.
While some people were quick to say “put the dog down”…
“Ah come on seriously is this comment for real!! Your dog bit your daughter in the face she will now be scarred for life and you want to get him re homed and not put him down your actually delusional!!! Your child is your priority and while I understand he’s a pet that is still no excuse he should be put down immediately and for someone to say the child must have done something to the dog accidentally get a life would you be saying the same if it was your child ridiculous!!!”, said one person.
Other people understood the dilemma.
“Take the dog to a behaviourist and have it assessed by a professional before making any rash decisions. I sincerely doubt the dog just went over and bit her for no reason,” advised one person.
“Contact behaviourist to work with his issues. He wouldn’t have bit the child randomly so there has to be something that triggered it,” said another.
We hope this dog finds a new home!
