A young athlete has passed away after a car accident

A young athlete has passed away after a car accident over the weekend.

The boy, aged 17, was killed in Ballivor, County Meath, on Friday.

Tributes have been paid to Evan Brennan, a promising sports star from Summerhill.

“Evan Brennan (17) died when the car in which he was driving hit a fence in Ballivor in Co Meath.

“Mr Brennan was from Summerhill, Co Meath and was an avid GAA player,” reports

Local Fine Gael councillor, Joe Fox, opened up about the tragic death and sent his condolences to the family of the deceased.

He said that the community in Meath have been left in shock following the news of his passing.

“He was a lovely person and was from a lovely family.

“He was very involved in the GAA and was a credit to his parents.”

“Everyone is shocked by this terrible tragedy. It’s terrible and shocking.

“My condolences to the family,” he told the publication.
